National Standardization Agency (BSN), in collaboration with ARISE+ Indonesia, launched the improved TBT (Technical Barriers to Trade) website, developed with support from ARISE+ Indonesia, in a hybrid event on Tuesday (13/12). The launching event was officiated by the BSN Deputy for Standard Implementation and Conformity Assessment, Dr Zakiyah, MM, and the Team Leader of ARISE+ Indonesia Technical Assistance II, Alessandro Martinatto.
Trade in Services (TiS) has been the new subject for Hanum Nareswari for the last two years. She was a fresh graduate when she joined the Directorate of Trade in Services Negotiation (DPPJ in Indonesian acronyms) at the Ministry of Trade (MoT) as Trade Analyst in February 2021. Although she gets the hang of her job, she is still thirsty for knowledge to keep up to speed. Therefore, she got very excited when she was selected to participate in specialised training in the analysis of trade in services organised by DPPJ with support from ARISE+ Indonesia.

From 21-25 November 2022, planners at the Macroeconomics Directorate Bappenas took part in the Economic Modelling training in Jakarta facilitated by ARISE+ Indonesia. During the four-day training, Thomas Warnock, Senior Economist and Elliot Garside, Assistant Economist from Oxford Economics, guided the participants to simulate the energy and emissions model that will allow different directorates to assess the macroeconomic and fiscal impact of climate policies, including carbon taxes, increased electrification, carbon capture, and investment in renewables.
Bappenas Holds a forum on Economic Modelling to Achieve Sustainable Growth through Harnessing Energy
Jakarta, 24 November 2022 - The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, with support from the European Union-funded ARISE+ Indonesia, hosted an international economic modelling forum aiming to introduce the integrated economics-environmental analysis tool to assess the impact of the energy transition on macroeconomic indicators entitled "Sustainable Growth through Harnessing Energy" today. The policy tool was developed by Bappenas, with technical support from ARISE+ Indonesia and Oxford Economics.

His 2037 miles (3278 km) journey from Fakfak Regency in West Papua Island in Eastern Indonesia was not in vain. Abdul Jalil is the Chairman of Geographical Indication Protection Communities (MPIG or local GI Association) of Tomandin Fakfak Nutmeg, a top-quality local nutmeg commodity that has been certified Geographical Indication (GI) No. IDG 000000049 by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (MoLHR) in 2016. Abdul Jalil's mission, facilitated by ARISE+ Indonesia, to promote Fakfak's origin nutmeg resulted in a business deal with one of the big Indonesian exporters to supply 12 tons of premium quality mace for exporting to India.
Encouraging research and development (R&D) of local materials and investment in the upstream cosmetics industry, especially the raw materials, is urgently needed to support Indonesian cosmetics small and medium manufacturers. According to the Ministry of Industry’s data, 70%-80% of cosmetics raw materials are still imported. Thus, the development of the upstream industry is expected to reduce dependence on imported raw materials, increase the competitiveness of the Indonesian cosmetics industry, and increase the participation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Global Value Chains through exports of Indonesian cosmetic raw materials.
