Technical Assistance II

Almost 200 quality control inspectors and laboratory analysts within the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MoMAF) across Indonesia participated in Microbiology Testing online training, 24-25 May 2022. The training was organised by Fish Quarantine and Inspection Agency (FQIA/BKIPM) under the MoMAF with support from ARISE+ Indonesia. The training aimed to strengthen laboratory personnel's capacity, knowledge and competence.
In his opening speech, the Head of BKIPM, Widodo Sumiyanto, underscored the importance of keeping abreast with evolving regulations and requirements to ensure the delivery of quality assurance.
"The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries is committed to strengthening a quality assurance system from upstream to downstream to promote international trade," Mr Widodo said.
He also extended his gratitude to ARISE+ Indonesia for facilitating competency enhancement for laboratory staff to meet the evolving quality assurance requirements.
ARISE+ Indonesia Quality Control Senior Expert Stefani Jürgens, and Export Quality Senior Expert Arief Safari, delivered and facilitated the training, respectively. The two-day training discussed extensively on the presence and characterization of Listeria Monocytogenes and Vibrio Parahaemolyticus in fisheries products, as well as advanced methods for their identification and enumeration.
