ARISE+ Indonesia just marked its third year since its inception in 2019. While the programme has been operating under the exceptional circumstances prescribed COVID-19 during most of its existence, the latest project data analysis indicate a fairly good pace of implementation.
As of 31 December 2021, the project had delivered almost 58 % of its deliverables in full, and 20% had been partially delivered while the activities line up in the fourth – an last – annual work plan are expected to deliver about 18% of the deliverables. So far the project events, has reached out to about 8,085 beneficiaries, comprising 4,430 women and 3,655 men, from the central government (62%), local government (15%), private sector (8%), academia (6%), civil society (1%) and others (8%).
During six semesters of implementation, ARISE+ Indonesia produced 235 project documents including from including study reports, policy papers, guidelines, manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), aide memoirs, fact sheets and training material. Implementation was held up during the first part of 2021 as many stakeholders were expecting a return to normalcy by the middle of the year. But with the resurgence of infection, many activities were quickly place in the pipeline again.
Some of the activities that are outstanding, such as study tours and overseas trainings, still depend on the complete lifting up of travel restrictions to be feasible. The evolution of the pandemic in 2022 will therefore be crucial for the full completion of the programme.
It is worth noting that momentum of implementation of the programme in the challenging overall context of the last two years were made possible thanks to the continuously high degree of commitment of the direct beneficiaries and the Coordinators of the Technical Advisory Bodies as well as the unflinching support of European Union Delegation.
